Character Card Format

Here is the outline for the Character Card, one of the alternatives to the traditional book report.  It is based on the American Express print ad from a couple of years ago.  There are different ways to use this.  You could group students, assign them one of the main characters from their book and have them complete the sheet as a group.  It could be done independently as an alternative to a more traditional book report as well.  You could ask students to select 3 (or 5 or whatever number) of the phrases to be completed and, in addition to completing them, explain why these are the most essential things to know about their character. The phrases could be completed with pholots and illustrations instead of words as yet another alternative.  This could then be formed into a character collage of sorts.  See how many alternatives YOU can brtainstorm.  Oh, and feel free to add to the list of phrases.
